Ways To Reduce Parenting Stress
Anyone who says parenting is easy is either a liar, has no children or wants to publish and promote their “Parenting self help book.”
Throw in Covid and all the shenanigans that go with it and those stress levels sky rocket to somewhere between Mars and Jupiter. Lockdown, home schooling, keeping them entertained and ensuring they have enough physical exercise and a healthy diet is no mean feat to accomplish these daily necessities without the need for some fermented grape juice.
The good news is that there are a few steps that you can take that may help to reduce those stressful times in the life of parenting.
As with any task that involves more than one person you need to have a good relationship so if you’ve fallen out with your little people I suggest you make ammends first.
1 Praise and Mean It.
Keep in mind that their little lives have drastically changed and where they once had more freedom to play and socialise with friends they are now cocooned within four walls. Your four walls! It cant be easy so praise them for their efforts and cut some slack if they get it wrong sometimes. Promoting positive behaviour will enrich the respect they have for you and they will be even more willing to listen.
